তিনি যখন আগুন দেখলেন, তখন পরিবারবর্গকে বললেনঃ তোমরা এখানে অবস্থান কর আমি আগুন দেখেছি। সম্ভবতঃ আমি তা থেকে তোমাদের কাছে কিছু আগুন জালিয়ে আনতে পারব অথবা আগুনে পৌছে পথের সন্ধান পাব।
When he saw a fire, he said to his family: ”Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire.”
فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا نُودِي يَا مُوسَى

অতঃপর যখন তিনি আগুনের কাছে পৌছলেন, তখন আওয়াজ আসল হে মূসা,
And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: ”O Mûsa (Moses)!
আমিই আল্লাহ আমি ব্যতীত কোন ইলাহ নেই। অতএব আমার এবাদত কর এবং আমার স্মরণার্থে নামায কায়েম কর।
”Verily! I am Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform AsSalât (Iqâmat-as-Salât) for My Remembrance.
সুতরাং যে ব্যক্তি কেয়ামতে বিশ্বাস রাখে না এবং নিজ খাহেশের অনুসরণ করে, সে যেন তোমাকে তা থেকে নিবৃত্ত না করে। নিবৃত্ত হলে তুমি ধবংস হয়ে যাবে।
”Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish.
وَمَا تِلْكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَا مُوسَى

হে মূসা, তোমার ডানহাতে ওটা কি?
”And what is that in your right hand, O Mûsa (Moses)?”
তোমার হাত বগলে রাখ, তা বের হয়ে আসবে নির্মল উজ্জ্বল হয়ে অন্য এক নিদর্শন রূপে; কোন দোষ ছাড়াই।
”And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign,
لِنُرِيَكَ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا الْكُبْرَى

এটা এজন্যে যে, আমি আমার বিরাট নিদর্শনাবলীর কিছু তোমাকে দেখাই।
”That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs.
اذْهَبْ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَى
(24
ফেরাউনের নিকট যাও, সে দারুণ উদ্ধত হয়ে গেছে।
”Go to Fir’aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience, and has behaved as an arrogant, and as a tyrant).”
قَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي

মূসা বললেনঃ হে আমার পালনকর্তা আমার বক্ষ প্রশস্ত করে দিন।
[Mûsa (Moses)] said: ”O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness).
وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
(26
এবং আমার কাজ সহজ করে দিন।
”And ease my task for me;
وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي
(27
এবং আমার জিহবা থেকে জড়তা দূর করে দিন।
”And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Mûsa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabarî, Vol. 16, Page 159].
يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي

যাতে তারা আমার কথা বুঝতে পারে।
”That they understand my speech,
وَاجْعَل لِّي وَزِيرًا مِّنْ أَهْلِي
(29
এবং আমার পরিবারবর্গের মধ্য থেকে আমার একজন সাহায্যকারী করে দিন।
”And appoint for me a helper from my family,
هَارُونَ أَخِي
(30
আমার ভাই হারুনকে।
”Hârûn (Aaron), my brother;
اشْدُدْ بِهِ أَزْرِي
(31
তার মাধ্যমে আমার কোমর মজবুত করুন।
”Increase my strength with him,
وَأَشْرِكْهُ فِي أَمْرِي
(32
এবং তাকে আমার কাজে অংশীদার করুন।
”And let him share my task (of conveying Allâh’s Message and Prophethood),
كَيْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرًا
(33
যাতে আমরা বেশী করে আপনার পবিত্রতা ও মহিমা ঘোষনা করতে পারি।
”That we may glorify You much,
وَنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِيرًا
(34
এবং বেশী পরিমাণে আপনাকে স্মরণ করতে পারি।
”And remember You much,
إِنَّكَ كُنتَ بِنَا بَصِيرًا
(35
আপনি তো আমাদের অবস্থা সবই দেখছেন।
”Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer.”
قَالَ قَدْ أُوتِيتَ سُؤْلَكَ يَا مُوسَى
(36
আল্লাহ বললেনঃ হে মূসা, তুমি যা চেয়েছ তা তোমাকে দেয়া হল।
Allâh said: ”You are granted your request, O Mûsa (Moses)!
